Role Play Area in Sheffield

Our Hospital Role Play Area is home to lots of poorly babies, we need the help of young doctors and nurses to look after them! Put on your uniform and role-play as a doctor or nurse in our Children’s Hospital. Use the stethoscope, syringe, thermometer and all the other medical tools in your doctor’s bag. Help treat the patients. Choose from a basket of different outfits to dress the babies. Wrap them up in blankets to cradle them to sleep! 

Within our hospital you will find a reception area with a keyboard, telephone and clipboard to check in the poorly patients and make appointments! As well as, beds for the babies to sleep in and prams to push the babies around the town.

Role Play Area in Sheffield

Communication and language skills can be developed through pretend-play in the Children’s Hospital. Children can ‘put the baby to bed’ or ‘give the baby some medicine’ for example. Children in reception will be learning to talk about their immediate family and friends. You can encourage these kind of conversations about families and babies while children engage in role play in our children’s hospital. The pretend baby dolls can be used to help children consider feelings and ways to help each other feel better.

Children can use their motor skills to dress themselves in the nurse and doctor outfits. Use the zips and velcro! Small prams and pushchairs can be used to develop a toddlers physical strength. The low-level equipment is ideal so they can hold themselves up with the handle and pull themselves up to a standing position. Even shuffle or walk with the pram in front of them.
